Working with this technique has been such a blessing. Before I started training with Speech Level Singing, I was on the road to developing soft calluses on my vocal chords, I struggled with singing the range I wanted to sing with, and my voice was not nearly as strong as I knew it could be. I started training with Liz in the Spring of 2004 and within the first year of training my voice strengthened and I went from working within a 1 octave range to being able to work within a 4 octave range. Speech Level Singing has given me the ability to use my voice beyond its greatest potential. It is a tool that continues to expand and strengthen my range. I love Speech Level Singing.

Though I always intended to pursue singing as a career, there was a point in my life following my voice change that I seriously questioned my own vocal capabilities. Singing came so naturally as a child, but with the coming of adolescence I truly felt like I had forgotten how to use my voice. Insecurity became a large factor when I decided to search for a vocal coach. The embarrassing condition of my voice made it difficult to find a teacher that could not only help me vocally, but make me feel comfortable while doing so. Liz was that teacher, and with our first lesson her vivacity and quirkiness immediately put me at ease.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the three plus years that I have been able to work with Liz, and I consider her not only an extraordinary vocal teacher, but a good friend.

I have been working with Liz for almost 8 months now learning Speech Level Singing and am thrilled to have found such a wonderful teacher and technique. Liz is a very talented teacher who really understands the workings of the voice and is able to use her creative abilities to individualize her approach to each student. Her enthusiasm and love for her job is very obvious and she is an extremely encouraging teacher who always looks for the positive aspects in her students. At the same time, she is both pragmatic and realistic, and helps you to understand your strengths and weaknesses and how to improve on both.

With regards to Speech Level Singing, I have found this to be an excellent and easy way to strengthen my voice and as a novice to singing, I have seen great results in a relatively short amount of time. Not only has my range increased, I now sing with vibrato and most importantly my voice sounds far more connected and my breaks are now hardly noticeable.

As I continue to train my voice I feel confident that with Liz and Speech Level Singing I will continue to improve and enjoy the benefits of a stronger singing voice. Speech Level Singing made singing more fun and less technical. It's helped with my breath control and strengthened my voice. I feel very fortunate to have come across a voice teacher like Liz Wooten.
