Liz Wooten is an accomplished vocalist and certified instructor of the Speech-Level Singing™ technique, with 38 years involvement in music, and over 27 years working experience in the performing arts. Liz's professional background includes singing professional musical theater, opera, and solo concerts in jazz and pop. Among Liz's many talents, she was contracted in guest-conducting positions for off Broadway shows, master chorales, churches and schools. As a vocal director, the professional shows she has directed are Fiddler on the Roof, Alice in Wonderland, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Brigadoon, Oklahoma, Gilgert & Sullivan's Ruddigore, Gilbert & Sullivan's H.M.S Pinafore, Electric Zoo in concert, Lee Lowel in concert, Drew Firestone in concert and many others.
Through years of teaching, directing, and performing, Liz realized her true ambition was to be a teacher, as her greatest rewards came not from performing, but when she succeeded in bringing out the love of music in others and making it easy.
If you ask Liz, she'll tell you honestly there aren't any tricks to making it easy, as it's within each and every one of us. With 23 years teaching experience, an extensive education in all aspects of music, and thorough training in vocal pedagogy, Liz understands the elements that make up the singing voice regardless of style or genre. Range, endurance, stamina, breath control, resonance, vocal strength, power, intonation, and the quality of one's voice will all quickly improve through Liz's direction.
